How are my classes unique?

• Kids pick up on the authenticity and EXCITEMENT of learning with a professional, exhibiting artist. I am a published artist (paintings, ceramics, and photography) for the past 25 years in New York City, London, and now the Northwest. As a photographer, I was hired by Andy Warhol and created portraits of actors Kevin Bacon, Morgan Freeman and Jennifer Connelly, among others.
  
  
• 2007 master’s degree in art education, which includes not only contemporary approaches to art making, but also exciting art history, art criticism and art aesthetics (the nature of art), as I have included in my courses for the past 12 years. Kids love exploring these areas, but it is rare when a complete exploration is offered.
  
  
• licensed classroom teacher for grades K-8.
  
  
• Small size classes for more individual attention (classes are listed in Bend Park and Rec catalogue),
  and private/semi-private lessons are available.
  
  
• Belief that art can be personal, powerful and relevant.
